Studies: Titian’s Bacchus and Ariadne by Jzin
Here is my old exercise, Bacchus and Ariadne, after Titian. This is one of the many pieces I painted on Sundays during those very busy days as a graduate student working on my thesis in Peter Laird’s Molecular Biology and Biochemistry laboratory at the University of Southern California. Dated 1998, this is an unfinished piece.
During several moves of residence, this piece received a gash. Someday I may mend it.
Bacchus et Ariadne by Titian. Master Reproduction Study by Jzin, 1998, South Pasadena, California.
Bacchus, at that moment when his life was changed forever.
The bacchantes and nyads knew, what Bacchus and Ariadne were, right up to that moment oblivious of.
now, even the cheetahs were cognizant of it.
A wink to Titian on the urn.
The original from the master at the National Gallery in London, England. Thank you Titian!
